ABOUT DETROIT WAZA
In the fall of 2008, after tremendous success in the PASL premier league, team
owner, Mario Scicluna decided to take his team to the next level PASL-PRO. They finished their inaugural
pro season with a respectable 7 wins and 9 losses. In their second season, Detroit (led by Head Coach
Dominic Scicluna) bettered their record with 8 wins and 7 losses moving their operations to the Taylor
Sportsplex.
Last year Detroit finished their season with 8 wins and 8 losses tying for second place
in the Eastern Division.
This year, with the acquisition of a few free agent players (including Miki
Djerisilo, Zack Wilkes, Ryan Mack, and Worteh Sampson) along with an impressive veteran line-up led by
Coaches Dominic Scicluna, Costea Decu and Gronthik Chatterjee, Detroit is poised to win a league
championship.
The Detroit WAZA FLO is currently the only professional soccer team in Michigan.
Detroit’s league, the PASL, is the largest Indoor league in the country with teams in Canada and Mexico.
Detroit’s diverse team roster is comprised of men who have played collegiately and professionally both in
the US and internationally. Some of the countries our players have rostered for include Jamaica, Brazil,
Australia, Malta, Kenya, Costa Rica, and Canada to name a few.

October 2008 marked the debut of the Professional
Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro). PASL-Pro has affiliated with the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League
(CMISL) and Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rapido (LMFR) creating a truly unique North American competition.
PASL-Premier and PASL-Pro are affiliated members of the FIFRA (Federation International Futbal Rapido
